Restorative Dentistry

Every Smile Deserves a Second Chance

Whether you’ve broken or lost a tooth on a hard candy, or have extensive decay from hundreds of hard candies, Dr. Gwendolyn Buck would love to be the Gwinn dentist to restore your smile in form and function.

Dr. Buck and our team understand how frustrating and embarrassing dental problems can be, that’s why we practice compassion and understanding and will never make you feel self-conscious about your smile.

We want to help restore your smile, your confidence, and your life with restorative dentistry. We use the most advanced materials and technology for the most comfortable and convenient treatments, and the most durable and natural-looking restorations.

Same Day Dentures

Dentures in a single visit? Too good to be true? I thought so too. But seeing is believing. Your new smile can be made in one visit and professionally relined to match for your gums! And it’s NOT more expensive than a custom made denture that takes two months to make!

What’s the catch? So glad you asked. There are two. First: The smile in a Same Day Denture can only be made straight (“the perfect smile”). Second catch: There are only two colors of teeth available for a Same Day Denture: Shade B1 (white-this is the lightest natural tooth shade), or Shade A2 (off white-a more common shade that’s slightly lighter than the average tooth color).

If you would prefer your teeth a more specific shape, color, or with crowding or spacing that matches a smile you used to have, we recommend instead a custom denture. At Northern Trails Dental Care, we have enjoyed customizing our patients’ smiles in dentures for over a decade.

If you have any questions about Same Day Dentures, or would like to schedule a consultation with your Gwinn denture dentist, give us a call today at (906) 661-1026 or schedule online!

At Northern Trails Dental Care, one of the most rewarding things we do for our patients is give them new life with a new smile. If you are considering dentures for the first time, we want to make the transition as smooth as possible for you. Our dentures are precision crafted from durable, natural-looking ceramics that look, feel and function just like natural teeth.

If you are currently living with dentures that rock, slip and slide out of place we want you to know there is a better option out there. If you are a candidate for dental implants, we can provide secure, life-like implant-supported dentures that are an integrated part of your oral health system, just like your natural teeth.

We want to help you live a life without worrying about your teeth, and it’s possible with our modern denture options.

If you have any questions about dentures, or would like to schedule a consultation with your Gwinn denture dentist, give us a call today at (906) 661-1026 or schedule online!

Same Day Technology

With our advanced E4D® technology, we are able to simplify the restorative process that used to take multiple appointments and temporaries down to a single appointment! We can design, fabricate, and place restorations like crowns, bridges and veneers in just one visit at Northern Trails Dental Care!

If you have a tooth that is broken, badly decayed, or missing all together, you may require a dental crown to restore the tooth back to health. Thankfully, at Northern Trails Dental Care, we use advanced E4D® technology to perform crowns in a single visit!

The benefits of same day crowns include:

  • Fewer appointments
  • Fewer injections
  • No more temporaries
  • No more messy impressions
  • Digital technology
  • A new tooth in a single visit!

Your Gwinn, MI dentist provides durable and natural-looking crowns that will give you back your healthy, functioning, beautiful smile in a single visit at Northern Trails Dental Care.

If you’re missing one or more teeth causing a gap in your smile, you may be a good candidate for a dental bridge. Dental bridges are important because they rebalance the forces in your mouth, preventing surrounding teeth and your bite from becoming compromised.

We offer several options for bridges at Northern Trails Dental Care:

  • One or more fabricated teeth secured with crowns on either side
  • One or more fabricated teeth secured with clasps on either side
  • One or more fabricated teeth secured with dental implants

If you’re living with a gap in your smile, a beautiful porcelain bridge from your restorative dentist in Gwinn can improve your oral health, give you back the pain-free function of your mouth, and your confidence in a complete smile!

Contact us today to find out how a bridge can bring your smile back to life!

Implant Dentistry

Dental implants are so unique because they are the closest thing to replacing a natural tooth. Implants are made from titanium, a biocompatible metal which has been shown to integrate with human bone on a microscopic level. Since an implant has an anchor in the bone, the result is an extraordinarily strong and long-lasting restoration. Implants are also really amazing since they cannot decay. So these are perfect restorations for a person who has been at higher risk for dental decay. Depending on the situation, we can explore a wide variety of implant solutions for your smile.

Dr. Gwendolyn Buck has years of experience in all aspects of implant dentistry including single tooth implants, multiple tooth implant bridges, implant dentures, fixed hybrid implant dentures and full mouth implant rehabilitation. During an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program with the University of Florida, Dr. Buck obtained the training and experience necessary for a wide variety of implant placement and restoration procedures. Over the years, she has expanded her surgical procedures with continuing education, obtaining extensive experience in socket preservation and membrane placement.

Single Tooth Implants

Single tooth implants are one of the most common implant restorations. These are a great option if you want to avoid a removable partial denture or traditional bridge.

Implant Overdentures

Implant overdentures are the best thing since sliced bread for lower dentures. They stabilize your dentures and are most popular in the lower arch, since lower dentures don’t have the advantage of a palate to rest upon like upper dentures do.

Implant Bridges

Implant Bridges are wonderful for multiple missing teeth and can be placed in the front and back of the mouth, or in the entire mouth. Ask your friendly team at Northern Trails Dental Care for your options to replace your smile.

Fixed Hybrid Implant Dentures

Fixed Hybrid Implant Bridges are a great long-lasting solution to replace multiple missing teeth and gum tissue. This esthetically pleasing option is supported by 6-8 implants and can provide a palateless option for the upper arch. The material used is typically a strong dental acrylic or a modified ceramic.

Implant Restoration

We love implants at Northern Trails Dental Care! When you’re ready to restore your smile, ask us about dental implants.

While we use the Nobel Biocare system for implant placement, if you already have a different implant brand in your mouth and are ready to restore it, our top-notch dental lab can help to restore a dental implant from nearly any implant company. We can also help to replace existing hardware in your current implant overdenture or upgrade your denture to snap into implants.

Inlays & Onlays

We live in an exciting time in the dental industry with all of the advancements in materials, techniques, and technology. If you are in need of a tooth repair that is more extensive than a simple filling, but you don’t quite need a full crown, we can restore your tooth to health and function with an inlay or onlay.

Inlays repair and fill damage and large cavities contained within the cusp (outer ridges) of the tooth, while onlays are larger and extend beyond the cusp. Inlays and onlays are a conservative way to restore teeth while preserving any remaining healthy tooth structure, which is always our goal at Northern Trails Dental Care.

Contact your Gwinn dentist today to see if you are a good candidate for an inlay or onlay.

Root Canals

We know that root canals have earned a bad rap over the years, but we want to assure you that with today’s advancements in dental techniques and technologies, root canals are a routine and fairly painless procedure.

Dr. Buck will make sure the area is thoroughly numbed with a painless injection prior to the procedure to ensure you don’t feel a thing. She will go into the chamber of the tooth and remove the infection, sterilize it, and fill it to prevent further infection. She will then seal the tooth with a crown to restore it to health.

If you are in need of a root canal, contact your Gwinn dentist today!

Full Mouth Reconstruction

If your mouth has been devastated by decay, disease, infection or injury, Dr. Buck provides hope with full mouth reconstruction. She has the clinical skills, technology, and compassion to rebuild your smile, your confidence and your life.

Many of our full mouth reconstruction patients have avoided the dentist for so long because they are embarrassed by the condition of your mouth. But trust us – Dr. Buck is the one person who understands and empathizes with you the most.

As every mouth is different, every full mouth reconstruction case is different. Your individual treatment plan will depend on a number of factors determined in a comprehensive consultation with your Gwinn reconstructive dentist at Northern Trails Dental Care.
